Bonfire Tour 2008 | Recap

Saturday, October 4,2008 – Bonfire dropped into town to play, and play we did! It was the Seattle stop along the Bonfire Tour featuring Pirate Movie Production’s “Overseas” and Runway Film’s “See what I see”. They brought a crew of dastardly Pirates and ladies from the Runway crew and we had ourselves a jolly good time!

Runway film’s leading lady Leanne Pelosi was present and accounted for and she rolled deep with her co-star’s from the film. The lovely Kimmy Fasani, Raewyn Reid, Jamie Anderson, Robin Van Gynn and Bonfire team rider and killa on da mic Bev Vuilleumier (pronounced “vee-um-yay”). From the Pirate crew we had Bjorn Hartweger and Gig Ruff along with Pirates producer and editor Basti Balser

The afternoon started early at the Seatac airport as our first arrival was Kimmy Fasani. It was cool to get some one on one time with the DC team rider, Runway Film’s rider as she was so incredibly chill and down to earth. It was fun to hear about some of Kimmy’s recent adventures and her goals and basically her passion for the sport. This girl is the real deal, expect incredible things from her!

The rest of the day was prep and setting the stage for what would be a long evening. Pyramid rolled in the kegs once again and our friends from Bonfire brought down some of their fresh new outerwear, prizes and PIZZA, (good call Jason)!! SOS Outreach was setup on site talking to party goers, telling them about how they can support the non-profit group and how to get underprivileged youth out on the hill. Monster had delicious, high energy drinks flowing non-stop and K2 had snowboards up for raffle!

The night started with the Summit at Snoqualmie’s “Blade Shadow,” featuring evo team riders Ivan Marcinko and Austin Sweetin. Then we got a shot in the arm from Runway’s “See what I see,” to keep us pumped up for the evening. The all ladies film featured some incredible riding, great cinematography, some wicked crash segments and it was cool how they incorporated some rad Super 8 footy from each of the girls along their travels. Moving right along, Pirate Movie Productions “Overseas” was a refreshing take on snowboard films and set the tone for the rest of the evening as pretty much everyone in the house was down to party. After doing leg raises, push ups, mustache drawing, and Simon Says for prizes we sent a couple people home stoked on their new K2 snowboards, Bonfire apparel, Dakine, and Salomon giveaways….and the rest of us headed down to the High Dive for some dancing and more adult beverages. Thanks to everyone who came out for the affair and helped to benefit Boarding for Breast Cancer. All proceeds from the evening benefit B4BC which is a non-profit, youth-focused education, awareness, and fundraising foundation.
