I’m sure you already knew that one of Seattle’s most iconic music venues, the Crocodile, had reopened its doors earlier this Spring. What you probably didn’t know is that one of evo’s most iconic employees, Patrick Brannon, is in a boy band.
Think N’Sync dressed in plaid button downs with hipster haircuts and musical talent, and add about 16 different instruments and dreamy lyrics. The effect is like ether on high school age girls and 30-something men everywhere. Hey Marseilles is big time, and the band no doubt has Patrick’s trumpet, sousaphone and casual hair tossing skills to thank.
Back and rested from their SXSW appearance in Austin, TX, Hey Marseilles is headlining at the Crocodile this Thursday, April 30th after an in-studio performance, live on KEXP tomorrow (Wednesday), April 29th. You can listen to it during your lunch break while you’re on your way to get your flu vaccination!
OK. See you at the Crocodile on Thursday. If for no other reason, then for the Peroni, Via Tribunali and the openers, local bands Palmer Electric Co. and Cataldo. (You’ll want Eric Anderson of Cataldo to hold your hand and scoop your ice cream, even if you’re a lactose intolerant anti-hand holder.)
