September 25th 2009—King Cat Theater. Thank Thank’s Cool Story movie Premier helped everyone sadly say goodbye to summer, and embrace fall by getting everyone excited for the winter ahead! King Cat Theater started filling up Friday evening with people grabbing a drink, catching up with old friends, making new friends and getting excited about the features of the evening.
A few finished drinks and giveaways later, the opening movie, by YKWII As Green as It Gets kicked off the evening featuring local riders including but not limited to; Seth Kizke, Yudo Kartia and evo rider and pal Austen Sweetin, all killing it in a variety of local spots. Seeing local riders hit up local spots with such flair and flavor helped excite everyone about places and ideas that are accessible to everyone in attendance! After a successful first showing of As Green as it Gets, and more giveaways (provided by The Summit, Lib Tech, Oneballjay, Dinosaurs will Die, Airblaster and many more) announced by a stand in Lil Wayne using a voice over to call out the winner and repeating “I like that” after every phrase, needless to say even the winners of the raffle were ready for Cool Story to go underway. Brought to you by Lib Tech and Snowboy productions, Cool Story kicked off with rider Ben Bogart; followed by many other stand out riders including; (and not limited too) Sam Hulbert, Chris Beresford, Pat Milbery, Mat Edgers, Nick Visconti, Jason Robinson, Scott Stevens, Mark Thompson, Austin Hironaka, Johnny Miller, Andre Spinelli, Sean Genovese, Chris Larson and of course Jesse Burtner himself. Highlighting features, laughs, lines and stellar riding from places as far away as Japan, and as near as home, (there was even a cameo appearance made by evo’s cabin, The Branch, located at The Summit at Snoqualmie) and a variety of riders and styles, Cool Story had it all. Needless to say this film did its job by entertaining, shocking and stoking out the crowd.
After another (but deserving) “I like that,” to conclude Cool Story, stand in Lil Wayne, and Jesse continued with the giveaways as people filtered out to continue on with their evening. As Green as It Gets coupled paired up with Cool Story, was able to show everyone a range of location and riding styles, left everyone dreaming big and plotting for the season ahead, in sync with reminiscing of the most creative and sweetest part of the movie; and that also deserves an, “I like that.”
