October 8, 2009- The B Movie blasted it’s high fueled film into the Seattle Center for a special IMAX showing. The lines were long and also a great sign that this was going to be a huge hit. Both showings were packed full of eager eyes awaiting a giant screen full of snowboarding smut at its finest. Stowed away in the audience were a slew of local pro’s, die hard’s and every other snowboard junkie the NW had to offer.
Full of no footing extremes, double corks madness, a 100ft B full of every obstacle possible, amazing cinematography and the dream team of riders made for one of the best premiers EVER. If you have a chance to see this film in a similar setting then don’t even think about it……DO IT! Highly recommended is an understatement as this promises to be the best film of the year. To say this movie was B grade would be an insult. I would have to say I saw some stand out parts that acted like a mind grenade and BLEW MY MIND!
Every single person even received a prize pack upon entry filled with: a T-shirt, One Ball Jay Wax, stickers, a free lift ticket to Stevens Pass and a free snowboard wax @ SnoCon. . . Worth the admission alone!!! Some lucky folks reached in to grab a golden ticket which was redeemed for major prizes such as a free snowboard and a high-five from the slew of local pros who were nice enough to sign autographs earlier in the night. After the movie everyone who was anyone headed over to Ozzie’s to battle it out on the mic. This went down in the books as one of the finest premiers to grace the NW.
The movie showcases the riding of Jeremy Jones, Jussi Oksanen, Nicolas Müller, Frederik Kalbermatten, Keegan Valaika, and Shaun White with appearances by Danny Davis, Terje Haakonsen, Mason Aguirre, Kevin Pearce, Mads Jonsson, Natasza Zurek, Mikey Rencz, Luke Mitrani, Jack Mitrani, Mark Sollars, Charles Reid, Gabi Viteri, Spencer O’Brien, Mikkel Bang, Sani Alibabic, Marko Grilc, Peetu Piiroinen, Kim Rune Hansen, Stephan Maurer, Chris Sörman, Kazu Kokubo, and Kyle Mack.
Burton riders Danny Davis, Mason Aguirre, Mikey Rencz, Mikkel Bang, Natasza Zurek and Spencer O’Brien were in Seattle on Thursday, October 8 to sign autographs, meet local riders and show the new Burton movie The B, as well as dine on fresh fish and enjoy the cold NW air.
Big thanks to the sponsors: Burton, SoBe, Corona, Ubisoft, Transworld Snowboarding, Snowboard Canada, Evogear and SnoCon for making this night possible.
