Shredder McWhip Schralps the Gnar

What’s better than waking up to clear skies and coffee at 6:30am, driving to Stevens, hiking for pow in the shade all morning, sharing parking lot pounders and winning scratch tickets, and a last sunny afternoon hike to build the perfect spring jump and hang out above the crowd while a goggle tan silently solidifies its way onto your face?

Our condolences…

We were informed that pro skier Shane McConkey died today while ski-basing in Europe. This is obviously shocking and tragic news and our thoughts are with the McConkey family throughout difficult times.

From Bryce:

For many reasons, Shane McConkey is the reason that I and so many others love to ski. His passing today is a massive loss for all of us who have made the sport an integral part of our lives. Among so many other things Shane has brought us fat skis, rocker, and most importantly, a personality committed to having fun in the absence of pretentiousness. Growing up I watched in awe early Gaffney and MSP films as Shane destroyed Tahoe and AK lines and only recently had the honour of knowing him after he signed with K2 Skis.

I know that I speak for us all when I send my condolences to his wife, child, close friends and family.

With Respect,
Bryce
