Wake vids

So now that the competitive season’s pretty much done, everyone’s in a bum rush to get their video sections/photo shoots out of the way before the water starts to get cold and the wetsuits have to be brought out. The last couple weeks I’ve been filming quite a bit with Spencer Norris, a videoographer from the Northwest who moved to Orlando to capture his riders full time.  I was in his video last year also, but with his move and ever changing outlook on his movies, I’m soo stoked for the new one to come out in spring.  I’ll keep everyone posted with updates and teasers, and on the premier that’ll be in Seattle. In addition to that, I’ve been shooting for a couple of the mags and an online site a friend of mine put together.  If I can figure it out, there should be a video of my roommates and I attached to this post - I’ll be the blonde guy.  Was a pretty gnarly day out when they shot, but the guys at thewakeplace.com made it turn out alright.

Check it, hope you like it.

New Guy

Whats up evo followers! I’m Nick Jones, and just signed on to be evo’s first wake team rider. I’ve known and been stoked on evo for awhile now, and am excited to be working with them. I grew up in the Northwest and will always call it home. I started out in snowboarding when I was super young. All the way through middle school and beginning of highschool I lived to ride the mountains around Seattle in the winter and Hood in the summer. Unfortunately, in 11th grade I scorpioned pretty bad on a landing and messed my head up a bit. My docs told me i shouldn’t ride anymore, definitely the worst news ever. A couple summers before that I’d tried wakeboarding, and was all about it, just never had time. Read the rest of this entry »

Support a friend, go to Mt. Hood!!!

Randa Shahin, a member of the evo family was recently injured. A bunch of Randa’s friends put together this really cool event to help offset the cost of her injury. So if you are in need of a snow fix, I couldn’t think of a better reason to slide in some summer slush.

evo Team riders take the Downtown Throwdown!!!

Hey, what’s up everyone…

As you know (or may not know yet) I (erich kunz) hate tooting my own horn, but I figure I should let you know that I won the Downtown Throwdown this past Saturday night at Sturtevant’s ski shop in Bellevue, WA (just across Lake Washington from
Seattle). There were probably 175 people watching, but it was still pretty sweet (the skiing aspect and walking away with 200 bones). An acquaintance of mine filmed the event and made a little edit on newschoolers if you have a few spare moments to take a look (I’m the dude with the green and white striped shirt):
